EVM cry:Congress candidates file petition in Ahmedabad court
Ahmedabad, 22 October, 2010
Congress candidates of four wards of east Ahmedabad today filed petition in Ahmedabad’s Civil court alleging rigging in Electronic voting machines in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation election.
The election was held on 10 October and result was out on 12 October.
According to President of Ahmedabad city Congress, more candidates will file similar petitions challenging the election process that was allegedly carried out using rigged EVMs.
According to Congress advocate Mr. Bhatt, the documents they have suggest that manually registered voters were very few in some booths, but when counting was held through EVM, the figure of those who voted in that booth was much higher. In some cases the figure of voters was more than three times high as per the EVM result, compare to manual register.
